Drop me a line
Have we met?
Here’s a little about me.
I’ve been writing professionally since 2011. Which has given me the time and experience to collaborate with diverse, international teams on projects running from print and display to messaging strategy and digital product.
I'm a life-long learner of craft and practice. I have (a lot of) empathy. And — emotional intelligence. Which I think is still worth something.
I’m also tenacious and curious.
Which could explain why I started out with an Egyptology degree, became a runner in Soho, found a place for myself in charities and community outreach programmes, became a teacher, and then wrote textbooks for an Islamic academic publisher.
I bake bread, go hiking in Greek canyons, grow vegetables.
And after 21 years, I moved from London to the Isle of Wight with my husband and our cat.
You already know this, but …
Great UX writing and content design is problem solving. It’s about helping people achieve their goals when they engage with your product or service — whether that’s an app, a website, or the emails they’ve signed up to.
It’s about bringing everyone along. Asking questions and looking for the gaps.
Good content design is putting service before sales — and guiding people to those sales if that's your thing. Designing precise conversations that are easy to understand, pleasant to use, and human!
Plus, you can turn down the dial on customer complaints and make your product more accessible — so everyone wins.
