Virgin voyages

UX writing, website, tone of voice,

THE BRIEF:

Virgin Voyages — Richard Branson's cruise line start-up — launched with a mission to redefine the sea vacation. Aimed at the digital-first market, Virgin Voyages styles itself as a 'wonderfully modern holiday at sea', featuring futuristic design, adult-only relaxation, health, wellness, and sustainability.

Central to the onboard customer experience is the Sailor app. From booking to check-in, excursions, payments, virtual queues, 'shake for champagne', messaging, and cabin services, the app covers just about every aspect of a voyage.

For six months I was embedded in a team of over 30 designers, developers and product managers. I was the lead copywriter for Virgin Voyages First Mates travel partners website and platform, and one of three UX writers for the Sailor app.
