THE BRIEF:
Huma is a health companion app that tracks a user's health and shares their information with their care team, to aid better care and decision making. Users can monitor aspects of their health outside of care settings to provide a more comprehensive picture of their needs.
Although already in design, the work required a specialist eye to develop a more personable and pleasant user experience. From the granularity of every word, instruction and consistent presentation of medical data to the deployment of a new tone of voice, it was imperative to get the experience working effectively as a whole.
THE WORK:
I worked with the team to review and write new copy across all screens in development with an overarching view to make complex content as simple and effective as possible for users.
This included:
Onboarding
Instructions and guidance, e.g. how to take your heart rate, blood pressure, pulse oximetry
Monitoring instructions and guidance, e.g. how to record wight gain, measurements and test results
How to monitor ongoing conditions and send data for analysis such as wound monitoring using photographs and measurements
How to collect data from connected devices
Ensuring the accuracy of all clinical details
Making consent and privacy clear
From a content perspective I also worked on:
Updating copy for a new tone of voice, ensuring a person-first, professional and easy to understand service
Developing suggestions for a working style guide
Developing naming suggestions and conventions
Ensuring the messaging managed user expectations
