UX writing + copywriting + style guide

Creating the UX and marketing copy — and the voice — for new payments-abroad brand, Equals Money*.

New fintech brand Equals Money was launched by currency exchange and consumer payments business, FairFX, to appeal to a more digital-first audience.

As well as creating the consumer app, website and account services, a B2B international payments and spend platform — that 30,000+ businesses now use — was also developed under the new Equals brand.

I worked with the design, dev and marketing team, as the sole writer across the scope of the project. This included designing the UX copy for the app and platform, ensuring the brand’s voice — in all the ways it would be used — reflected Equals’ values with clarity, humanity, and a little fun.

The work

Project goals:

  • Create the UX copy for the Equals Money personal app, including onboarding, payments, error messaging, FAQs, tooltips, etc.

  • Create the UX copy for the Equals Money international payments platform.

  • Write seasonal CRM email campaigns.

  • Create the system emails for Equals Money.

  • Write website copy and banners for the Equals Money launch site.

  • Update FAQs, Ts&Cs, and policies using easy-to-understand language.

  • Develop the creative for the brand pack and card carrier.

  • Write a style guide for Equals Money.
